The "Ancient Fire" workshop is held in Suomussalmi, a city situated central-east of Finland. The workshop has now been a tradition for a couple of years. The aim is to create a gathering with the people from a city with less citizen each year. The installation was a big wooden tower on an island joined by a high wall crossing the water and going to the shore in a spiral. Residents were asked to write wishes on a piece of wood for the evening. At night, wishes were read and thrown into the fire. In certain cultures, fire is a mean to transgress to another world.
