Book Collection

Designer: Jérémy Couture

Concept book collection,
creating new links with objects:

Plants of the sky:

Seeing the city in a different way was the main target of realizing this book. I tried to merge botanics with city landscape. The diversity of street lights is amazing in every city of the world. I decided to collect pictures of street lights and interpret them as plants like if people were living in a gigantic garden, which we are indeed but not the one we usually picture in our heads.

The animals we kill:

Ways to kill are often related to objects. In this book I wanted to make connections that we do not usually make with objects. A cigarette and a frog, mexican boots and a scorpion, rope with humans, etc. This book underlines how objects can be fatal when wrongly used.

Getting heavier:

Objects and our weight. We calculate our weight of our body but we forget to calculate what we possess as "material" overall. The book shows two people growing up and how much things they have and what is their overall weight with the objects included. It is interesting to note how it decreases when you reach a certain point in your life; a point where things seems to be useless.
